MOTTO: Christ, the Bedrock of our Home
Christian Family Society was founded in April 2004 by the pioneer Dean of the AVMCC, the Ven. Dr. Olusegun Adeyemi, now The Lord Bishop of Kwara Diocese. It was founded as part of the activities to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral.
To coincide with the 40th anniversary, the Dean had invited members of the congregation who were 40 years of age who were married and who did not belong to any society in the church to a meeting, and from the discussions at that meeting Christian Family Society were formed.
As at today, the society is made up of married couples mainly within the same age bracket at the Cathedral, draw from all parts of the federation and even abroad. Most members attend the 7am Communion service
THE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
1. To work to promote the spiritual and material growth of the church through the family unit.
2. To foster the growth of Christian Family Society, AVMCC.
3. To provide a new spiritual insight to individual growing families within the Church in accordance with the principles of the Anglican Communion.
4. To foster the welfare and maintain a sense of fraternity and oneness among the members of the society.
5. to support Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral spiritually, morally and financially..
6. to propagate the gospel of Christ through active support and participation in the activities of the church.
